I really need for everybody to check out http://www.muttcats.com. It's a fantastic web site. It offers a directory of all shelters and rescue agencies in the entire state of Wyoming, plus much, much more. I tried to link the blog to MuttCat's but for some reason the link ended up on the bottom of my Contact Page. I'll keep working.
Lists of specific breed rescues are also available; there's even a link for a Guinea Pig Sanctuary in Casper. You know, I've never even wondered where homeless Guinea Pigs go.
There is actually a MuttCat Blog as well as a page for memories where a memorial can be posted to a much loved pet who is waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge.
In addition, coupons for Salt Lake City are available here
You check it out, please!!

I believe the time has come to talk about the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals--ASPCA.
Specifically, this was the very first humane society to be established on our continent. This organization was founded on the belief that animals deserve to be treated with kindness and respect by humans, and that they are entitled to be protected by the law. The ASPCA works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters nationwide. Please visit this very important website: http://www.aspca.org. It is literally overflowing with ways for you and me to make a difference. You can also see pictures of animals like
Yukon and Shirley below who are adoption ready right now!

On Thursday, I discovered a fantastic article, "No-pet Evacuation Rules Putting Lives at Risk," on ABC News. I think this information is directly related to my purpose for this blog. It was certainly informative. Although I had hoped, I never realized that after Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans in 2005 our U.S. House of Representatives actually passed the Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act. I shout, "Bravo!" Now, other countries are attempting to create and pass similar legislation. Please read:

My web site honors these lovely pink birds...Flamingoes. I must have been pink and loved to fly in some past life. Plants are another thing I do. I'm not having much luck turning Wyoming into a tropical jungle, but I'll probably keep trying.
I actually do have a purpose in mind for this blog as the picture at left might imply. I'm challenging you to help me participate actively in animal rescue. My plan is to gather information and link to other sites dedicated to rescuing animals in need. Please help me find a direction...
I want to honor this challenge by intoducing you to this lovely Australian Cattle Dog, Zelda. I did borrow her picture from http://www.ckrescue.net. Nadia and the Pack began rescuing dogs in 2002. Their mission is to  help rescue & provide safe harbor for unwanted, abandoned, abused & neglected small dogs that would die in kill shelters or on the streets.
They definitely deserve our applause and our support!
Please help me find and promote other Rescue groups. Public awareness is the answer to abuse and neglect.
